The Tarsheed Teacher Training Program recently delivered a professional development workshop in Qatar entitled "Restorative Approaches and Practical Solutions for Student Behavior Challenges in Schools." The workshop was led by Mr. Maher Mansour, Student Affairs Supervisor for the Primary Division at the Arab International Academy, on Sunday, 28 June 2026, bringing together teachers and educational supervisors from different school levels.

Drawing on the book Hacking School Discipline by Nathan Maynard and Brad Weinstein, translated into Arabic by educator Naeem Hammad and published by Tarsheed Educational Publications, the workshop introduced participants to restorative approaches that view student behavior as a reflection of underlying relationships, experiences, and contextual factors rather than simply misconduct that warrants punishment.

Throughout the training, participants explored practical strategies for fostering empathy, accountability, and a sense of belonging while creating safer, more supportive learning environments. The workshop also highlighted approaches to developing students' self-awareness and strengthening their decision-making and problem-solving skills.

Designed as an interactive learning experience, the workshop combined real-life case studies, collaborative reading, visible thinking strategies, group discussions, and digital engagement tools. This practice-oriented approach enabled participants to exchange experiences and develop practical strategies for implementing restorative practices within their own school communities.

The workshop was organized in response to a request from the Arab International Academy as part of its ongoing efforts to strengthen school-wide approaches to student behavior and cultivate a culture of positive relationships. The collaboration reflects the Academy's commitment to investing in the professional growth of its teachers and educational leaders while adopting contemporary educational approaches that promote more inclusive, supportive, and effective learning environments.

The Tarsheed Teacher Training Program is a professional development initiative dedicated to supporting teachers through a wide range of workshops and training courses that address current educational priorities and emerging pedagogical practices.

Participants also benefit from Tarsheed Educational Publications, which provide practical training resources based on both established and contemporary educational concepts. Delivered in Arabic, the program equips educators with practical tools and interactive learning experiences that can be directly applied in Arab classrooms.
