Tarsheed has developed a series of general history textbooks for grades six through ten in Arabic, designed to serve as a core component of the school history curriculum.
The development of these textbooks was initiated through a series of workshops organized by the Arab Center for Research and Policy Studies. These workshops brought together university professors and historians from across the Arab world, alongside educational consultants and specialists in the teaching of social studies at the school level.
During these workshops, participants defined the overarching objectives of teaching general history, focusing on the knowledge and skills students are expected to develop, particularly those related to research, inquiry, critical thinking, and communication. They also emphasized the importance of adopting modern pedagogical approaches that place students at the center of the teaching and learning process, moving beyond rote memorization and traditional didactic instruction.
