Tarsheed has developed a series of general history textbooks in Arabic for Grades 6 to 10, designed to serve as a core component of school history curricula.
The development of these textbooks was initiated through a series of workshops organized by the Arab Center for Research and Policy Studies. These workshops brought together university professors and historians from across the Arab world, alongside educational consultants and specialists in the teaching of social studies at the school level.
During these workshops, participants defined the overarching objectives of teaching general history, with a focus on the knowledge and skills students are expected to develop, particularly in research, inquiry, critical thinking, and communication. They also emphasized the importance of adopting modern pedagogical approaches that place students at the center of the learning process, moving beyond rote memorization and traditional didactic instruction.
